Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The transmission control module (TCM) checks the lockup solenoid function by comparing the speed signal from the gearbox speed sensor with the rpm signal from the gearbox rpm sensor. The signals should then "show" the same calculated rpm. The transmission control module (TCM) also compares the rpm from the gearbox speed sensor with the engine rpm. The rpm should then be greater or lower than the gearbox speed depending on the gear that is selected. If the transmission control module (TCM) detects that the speed and rpm signals do not agree with the calculated values, it means that the lock-up solenoid SLU is slipping or is not engaged and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is generated.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when driving normally.
