Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The shift solenoids S1, S2 manage the gear changing in the gearbox together with the linear solenoids. The solenoids are controlled using the power stage in the transmission control module (TCM). The control unit activates the power stage when the solenoids are to be activated and the circuit receives power. The control module checks the function of the circuit by sending a check current while the solenoid is not activated.
If Transmission Control Module (TCM) registers that signal is missing in the circuit to solenoid S1 or S2 when the solenoid is not activated, diagnostic trouble code TCM-0002 or TCM-0008 is generated.
Which diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored depends on which circuit is faulty.
The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed when the ignition is on.
Substitute value
- Auxiliary program Emergency mode 1 in the transmission control module (TCM) has started.
Hint: Emergency mode in case of malfunction Emergency Mode In Case of Malfunction
Possible source
- Contact resistance in the terminals
- Open circuit on control signal lead.
- Shift solenoid not working.
- The signal cable is short-circuited to voltage.
- Internal fault in transmission control module (TCM).
Fault symptom[s]
- General warning lamp lit
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
- Harsh gear changing
- No gear changing.
