Seat Belt Tension Sensor: Service and Repair

Force limiter mechanical/belt tension sensor, replacing

Preparatory work

Important information
The driver's seat always has a mechanical force limiter.
The passenger seat always has a force limiter with a belt tension sensor.

Adjusting the seat position
Move the seat as far forward as possible.

Removal

Removing the force limiter/belt tension sensor




Remove the front seat side panel. See: Side panel front seat, replacing Side Panel Front Seat, Replacing.
Insert a screwdriver on the inside of the end mounting. Remove the seat belt by pressing the catch inwards and pulling upwards.





On the passenger seat, remove:
- the connector
- the screw
- the force limiter with belt tensioner sensor.

On the driver's seat, remove:
- the screw
- the mechanical force limiter.

Installation

Installing the force limiter/belt tension sensor

Install:
- the force limiter/sensor using the M10 screw. Tighten
- the connector (passenger seat only)
- the seat belt and end mounting
- the side panel. See: Side panel front seat, replacing Side Panel Front Seat, Replacing.

Finishing

Checking the seat belt function and supplementary restraint system
Check the seat belt function.
Carry out an inspection of the supplementary restraint system.
