Needle Valve, Service Valve, Replacing
Service valve (at the member) and needle valve
Removal
- Disconnect the battery negative lead.
- Drain the refrigerant from the system.
- Remove the pipe between the expansion valve and the junction point / side member. See Pipes / hoses, replacing.
Installation
Install. See Pipe receiver drier, replacing
The needle valve in the service valve
Removal
- Remove the valve cap
- Unscrew the needle jet. Use special tool 951 1204.
Installation
Install in reverse order.
- NOTE: Use only your thumb and index finger when tightening the service valve using the valve needle tool 981 1994. This is to prevent damage to the seal for the valve.
- Vacuum pump the system and leak test. See Refrigerant, draining
- Fill the system with refrigerant and check for leaks. See Refrigerant, draining
- Connect the battery negative lead.
Tighten the valve cap. Tighten to 6 Nm
