Front Door Hinge: Service and Repair

Hinges, front side door, replacing

Special tools:
950 1080 Fixture 950 1080 Fixture

Only replace when replacing the cowl side




Install door supports 950 1080 Fixture 950 1080 Fixture.
Align the door and hinges so that the edge of the hinges are positioned in the punched out holes in the cowl side (1).
Tack weld the hinges into place.
Check the alignments and clearance.
Remove the door.
Remove the door supports.




Weld the hinges into place.
Ensure that the weld is in the groove in the cowl side.
Seal the rear edge (2). See Body, sealant application chart .
