Level sensor fuel tank left

Special tools:

Preparatory work

Remove the fuel tank for European models. See: Fuel tank Removal and Replacement.
Remove the fuel tank for USA models. See: Fuel tank Removal and Replacement.

Removal

Removing the level sensor on the left-hand side




Release the 2 catches. Remove the plastic nut. Use: 999 7112 Wrench 999 7112 Wrench.

Caution! When removing the plastic nut ensure that the level sensor is not turned with it.




Lift up the level sensor from the tank.

Caution! Do not damage the lever on the level sensor during removal.

Remove:
- the connector
- the ejector
- the level sensor.

Installation

Note! For tightening torques, see Specifications. Tightening Torque

Installing the level sensor on the left-hand side





Caution! Do not damage the lever on the level sensor during installation.

Install:
- a new O-ring
- the ejector
- the connector
- the level sensor.





Caution! When installing the plastic nut ensure that the level sensor is not turned with it.

Tighten the plastic nut. See: Tightening torque Tightening Torque. Use: 999 7112 Wrench 999 7112 Wrench

Note! The marking on the level sensor must be opposite the marking on the fuel tank.

Finishing

Install the fuel tank for European models. See: Fuel tank Removal and Replacement.
Install the fuel tank for USA models. See: Fuel tank Removal and Replacement.
