Removing
Removing spoiler
Open the trunk lid.
Remove:
- the trunk lid panel. See: Panel, luggage compartment lid
- the covers, 1 item per side
- the screws and nuts, 2 pcs. per side.
Caution! Do not damage the painted surfaces.
Remove the spoiler using two T-handles with a round steel wire between. Use: 951 2333 handle 951 2333 Handle.
Installing
Installing spoiler
Remove tape remains from the part and from the vehicle. Use: 951 2942 Circle 951 2942 Circle and 951 2949 Holder 951 2949 Holder.
Wash the tape surfaces on the spoiler and the trunk lid with a mixture of 30% isopropanol and 70% water. Wipe dry.
Screw in the two guide pins (all the way) in the spoiler's nuts. Then insert the guide pins in the trunk lid's holes and check that the spoiler fits in the four drilled holes.
Note! Adjust the holes with a small round file as needed.
Rustproof the hole edges as needed.
Note! To ensure a good result two persons should work together when pressing the spoiler into place against the trunk lid. The spoiler shall be placed symmetrically on the trunk lid.
Hint: Look on the inside of the trunk lid and check that the guide pins end up in the center of the drilled holes.
Remove the protective film from the spoiler's mounting tape. Hold at one end each of the spoiler and carefully insert the guide pins in the holes in the trunk lid.
Note! Firmly press down the spoiler against the trunk lid, and check that the tape has contact against the trunk lid across the whole tape surface.
Open the trunk lid and remove the two guide pins.
Take screws, nuts, washers, and cover plugs from the kit. Apply locking fluid with part number 116 1370 on the screw threads.
Caution! Do not exceed the tightening torques below.
Install:
- the screws, 2 pcs. M6, with washers. Tighten according to: Tightening torque [1][2]Body and Frame
- the nuts, 2 pcs. M6, with washers. Tighten according to: Tightening torque [1][2]Body and Frame
Check-tighten the screws and nuts after 5 minutes.
Install:
- the cover plugs in the holes in the trunk lid's inner plate
- the covers, 1 item per side
- the luggage compartment lid panel. See: Panel, luggage compartment lid .
Note! Let the vehicle stand indoors for 2 hours after the work has been performed.
Do not wash the vehicle within 48 hours.
