Gear selector lever assembly, replacing

Preparatory work
Removing the center console
Remove center console. See: Center console, replacing.

Removal
Removing the gear selector assembly
Disconnect the wiring.








Remove the four M8 screws.

Removing the gear selector assembly

Note: Do not damage the gear selector cable.

Remove the gear selector assembly.

Installation

Note: For tightening torques, see Tightening torque.

Installing the gear selector assembly





Note: Do not damage the gear selector cable.

Install the gear selector assembly.
Tighten the four M8 screws.
Connect the connector.
Press the ball joint into place.

Install the center console. See: Center console, replacing

Note: Calibration of the built-in position sensor in the gear selector assembly must be carried out when the unit has been replaced or disconnected.

When replacing the position sensor the new position sensor must be calibrated. Carry out calibration according to VIDA vehicle communication, Function group 4 Transmission, transmission control module (TCM).
