DESCRIPTION:
When diagnosing hard steering, power steering pump noise, and/or an oil leakage, the inside of the steering gear bellows (tie rod boots) should be inspected for power steering fluid.
SERVICE:
If power steering fluid is found in the steering gear bellows, first make sure that there are no restricted or kinked hoses. Replace any restricted or kinked hoses that are found. Then, replace the steering gear (steering rack) according to VIDA:
