Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair






Mass air flow (MAF) sensor

Preparatory work

Removing components




Slacken off the hose clamp on the mass air flow (MAF) sensor.

Remove:
- the hose for the EVAP canister on the intake manifold
- the 2 screws holding the intake manifold. Move the manifold to one side.

Removal

Removing the mass air flow (MAF) sensor





Remove:
- the connector from the mass air flow (MAF) sensor
- the screws for the mass air flow (MAF) sensor. Pull out the mass air flow (MAF) sensor.

Installation

Note! For tightening torques, see Specifications. Tightening Torque.

Installing the mass air flow (MAF) sensor





Install:
- the mass air flow (MAF) sensor

Hint: Lubricate the O-ring using petroleum jelly or similar.

- the screws for the mass air flow (MAF) sensor. Tighten. Connect the connector for the mass air flow (MAF) sensor
- the intake manifold on the mass air flow (MAF) sensor. Tighten the screws and the hose clamp
- the hose for the EVAP canister on the intake manifold.
