Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S), Replacing

Front heated oxygen sensor (HO2S)
Separating the cable harness for the front heated oxygen sensor (HO2S)
Disconnect the front heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) connector by folding up the gray catch. Disconnect the cable harness from the clips and clamps. Lower the cable harness behind the engine. Raise the vehicle.
Removing the front heated oxygen sensor (HO2S)
Remove:
- the lower engine cover
- the front heated oxygen sensor (HO2S). Use: 999 5543 B.
Installing the front heated oxygen sensor (HO2S)
NOTE: For tightening torques, see Specifications.
Install:
- the front heated oxygen sensor (HO2S). Use: 999 5543 B.
- the lower engine splash guard. Install the cable harness for the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) in the engine compartment. Lower the vehicle.
Installing the cable harness
Connect the cable harness to the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S). Secure the cable harness in the clips and clamps.
Start the car. Check the function.
Rear heated oxygen sensor (HO2S)
Removing the rear heated oxygen sensor (HO2S)
Raise the vehicle. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) cable harness above the subframe. Disconnect the cable harness from the SIPS member.
Remove:
- the screw for the cable harness clamp in the three-way catalytic converter (TWC)
- the rear heated oxygen sensor (HO2S). Use 999 5543 B.
Installing the rear heated oxygen sensor (HO2S)
NOTE: For tightening torques, see Specifications.
Install:
- the rear heated oxygen sensor (HO2S). Use: 999 5543 B
- the cable harness clamp in the three-way catalytic converter (TWC). Tighten the screw.
Connect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) connector above the sub-frame. Install the cable harness in the SIPS member. Lower the vehicle. Start the vehicle. Check the function.
