Preparatory work
Draining coolant
Raise the vehicle. Remove the splash guard under the engine. Open the engine nipple.
Drain the coolant into a container. Close the nipple.
Install the splashguard under the engine. Lower the car.
Removing components
Remove the air cleaner (ACL) module. Service and Repair
Removal
Removing the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor
Disconnect the temperature sensor connector. Pull the retaining clip straight out. Pull up the temperature sensor.
Installation
Installing the engine coolant temperature sensor
Install:
- new sealing ring
- the temperature sensor
- the retaining clip. Connect the connector for the temperature sensor.
Finishing
Installing components
Install the air cleaner (ACL) module. Service and Repair
Checks
Top up with coolant. Use filling equipment: 951 2957 Coolant Reservoir 951 2957 Coolant Reservoir and cover: 951 2955 Cover 951 2955 Cover.
Test drive the engine. Check for any leakage.
