SUBJECT: "Alarm Service Required" message in DIM, DTC CEM-DD1B

DESCRIPTION:
Customers may report that "Alarm Service Required" is displayed in the Driver Information Module (DIM) display. DTC CEM-DD1B is found permanently stored in the Central Electronic Module (CEM), and the Siren Control Module (SCM) does not communicate with the CEM.

Some of the reported symptoms are:
- The siren was on and could not be shut off
- The siren came on while driving
- The siren came on while parked
- Alarm triggered but no sound from alarm

SERVICE:
Follow the steps below:
1. Perform CEM software upgrade, p/n 30667202.
2. Check SCM communication. Read out the part number for SCM in VIDA at CEM-DD1B fault tracing.
3. If the part number in VIDA is shown as "0000000000[ascii][ascii][ascii]", replace SCM and confirm that the part number can be read out.

NOTE: The CEM software does not correct an SCM that is not communicating. The CEM software will prevent the communication fault described above from occurring in the future.
