AFFECTED VEHICLES
DESCRIPTION:
Volvo has found that in some cases a customer may report a ticking / snapping noise from the front and center roof panels of the RHT. The corrective action is to apply grease to the window seal carrier.
MATERIAL
SERVICE:
Apply the grease to the areas as described in the following instructions.
Preparation
Open the RHT to the service position.
Grease Application
On the underside of the front RHT panel you will find the seal carrier highlighted here in blue.
Route the hose of the PFPE oil, (PN 30749880) over the linkage and carefully spray between the roof panel and the seal carrier. (see dotted line).
Following the edge of the carrier; inject the oil from above so it flows down into the area between the panel and the carrier.
Remove any excess oil.
On the underside of the middle RHT panel you will find the seal carrier highlighted here in blue.
Route the hose of the PFPE oil, (PN 30749880) over the linkage and carefully spray between the roof panel and the seal carrier. (see dotted line).
Following the edge of the carrier; inject the oil from above so it flows down into the area between the panel and the carrier.
Remove any excess oil.
Open and close the windows five times to work the oil into the area.
Test drive the vehicle to ensure the noise is eliminated.
