Hinges tailgate and trunk lid

Removal
Remove the panel on the trunk lid as described in Panel luggage compartment lid lower .
Detach and move aside the gas spring as described in Luggage Compartment Lid Strut Luggage Compartment Lid Strut.
Remove the panel as described in Luggage Compartment Lid Trim Panel Luggage Compartment Lid Trim Panel .
Set up the trunk lid as illustrated using the lock cylinder in the center console compartment.
Note! Mark all components to facilitate installation.
Remove:
- the M8 screw (1)
- the 4 M4 screws.
Detach and move the wire and catch from the hinge.
Detach and move the hall sensor, 2 pcs, from the hinge on the left side.
Remove:
- the side panel in the rear seat as described in Side panel rear seat Side Panel Rear Seat
- the hinge on the trunk lid as described in Luggage Compartment Lid Rear Hinge Luggage Compartment Lid Rear Hinge.
Detach and move aside the hydraulic hoses and the cable harness from the front hinge.
Remove:
- the safety catch for the front hinge; counterhold and release it carefully
- the inner and outer weatherstrip on the rear door window.
- the 2 M6 nuts
- the 6 M6 screws
- the M8 screw.
Release the hinge from the hall sensor and wiring.
Remove:
- the 2 M6 screws
- the M8 screw.
Angle out the hinge from the body.

Installation
Note! For tightening torques, see Specifications. [1][2]Body and Frame.
Install in the reverse order.
Adjust the trunk lid as described in Luggage Compartment Lid Service and Repair.
