Description of parameters
Parameters, general, part 1
Twilight sensor, sensor signal, value
Measurement range 0.5 to +4.75 Volts.
The normal value when the vehicle is in a lit area is approximately +3.75 Volts.
Back-up (reverse) gear inhibitor, status
Displays the status of the back-up (reverse) gear inhibitor.
Activated = back-up (reverse) gear inhibitor is activated, it is not possible to engage back-up (reverse) gear.
Not activated = back-up (reverse) gear inhibitor is not activated, it is possible to engage back-up (reverse) gear.
Fuel level, value
Measurement range 0.5 to +3.6 Volts.
The normal value at half tank is approximately +2 Volts.
Battery temperature sensor, signal
Measurement range 0 to 5 V.
Normal values are between 0.15 and 4.85 V.
Battery temperature, value
Displays the battery temperature in °C.
Parameters, general, part 2
30 supply, value
Measurement range 0 to +18 Volts.
Normal value when the generator (GEN) is charging: 13.0-14.5 Volts.
Position ignition key, status
Indicates the position of the ignition key.
POS0 = Position 0.
POSI = Position 1.
POSII = Position 2.
POSIII = Position 3.
Ignition key inhibitor, status
Displays the status of the ignition key inhibitor.
Ignition key locked = It is not possible to remove the ignition key from the ignition switch.
Ignition key not locked = It is possible to remove the ignition key from the ignition switch.
Clutch position sensor
Only 5 cylinder engines.
Measurement range 0 to +5 Volts.
The normal value when the clutch pedal is affected is approximately +0.3 Volts.
Accelerator pedal input signal, analog, value
Measurement range 0 to +5 Volts.
The normal value when the clutch pedal is not affected is approximately +0.3 Volts.
Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS), Airbag OK, status
Displays the status signal from the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) if Airbag is OK.
Airbag not deployed = Airbag OK.
Airbag deployed = Airbag not OK.
Brake fluid level, status
Displays the status of brake fluid level.
Normal = the brake fluid level is above the minimum level.
Low = the brake fluid level is below the minimum level.
Windshield wiper, status
Displays the status of the windshield wiper.
Activated = windshield wipers are active, wipers are in motion.
Not activated = windshield wipers are not active, wipers are not in motion.
Rear windshield wiper, status
Displays the status of the rear windshield wiper.
Activated = rear windshield wiper is active, wiper is in motion.
Not activated = rear windshield wiper is not active, wiper is not in motion.
Rain sensor, status
Displays the status of the rain sensor.
Activated = rain sensor is active.
Not activated = rain sensor is not active.
Windshield washer fluid level, status
Displays the status of the windshield washer fluid level.
Above 1 liter = there is more than 1 liter of washer fluid left in the reservoir.
Below 1 liter = there is less than 1 liter of washer fluid left in the reservoir.
Rheostat signal, value
Measurement range 0 to +5 Volts.
The normal value when the instrument lighting control is in the middle is approximately +2.5 volts.
Parameters, central locking
Central locking, status
States the current status of the central locking. The status can be the following values:
- Unlocked. All doors and hatches unlocked.
- Selectively unlocked. One or more of the side doors is unlocked. The others are locked. This is affected for example by whether the setting for the central locking has been set to full unlocking or 2-stage unlocking.
- Locked centrally. Indicates whether the car has been locked via remote control or via one of the central lock buttons.
- Locked in deadlock position. Indicates that deadlocks have been activated.
Origin most recent lock command, status
Indicates where the most recent lock command was received from.
- None. No value stored.
- Central locking switch. Switch in one of the front doors.
- Central locking switch with open front door.
- Automatic locking. Function which locks the central locking when the vehicle exceeds 7 km/h (5 mph).
- Relocking. Function which locks the vehicle if it has previously been unlocked using remote control but no door or hatch has been opened within two minutes.
- Unlocking in the event of a collision. Signal from the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) which unlocks the central locking if one of the airbags is deployed.
- Automatic unlocking. If the driver's door is the only door that is open, for example, and the (mechanical) lock button is depressed. The door will be unlocked automatically to prevent the ignition key being locked inside the vehicle.
- Ignition.
- Remote control.
- Remote unlocking. Unlocking via Volvo On Call.
Child-proof lock, status, status
The parameter can assume the following values:
- Activated
- Not activated.
- Faulty function.
- Ignore.
Private locking of luggage compartment lid, status
The parameter indicates the status of the private locking function (i.e. locking the glove compartment and the liftgate).
The value can be Activated or Not activated.
Lock status passenger door, status
The parameter indicates the lock status for the relevant door:
- Incorrect value.
- Unlocked.
- Locked.
- Deadlock position.
Lock status driver's door, status
The parameter indicates the lock status for the relevant door:
- Incorrect value.
- Unlocked.
- Locked.
- Deadlock position.
Lock status left-hand rear door, status
The parameter indicates the lock status for the relevant door:
- Incorrect value.
- Unlocked.
- Locked.
- Deadlock position.
Lock status right rear door, status
The parameter indicates the lock status for the relevant door:
- Incorrect value.
- Unlocked.
- Locked.
- Deadlock position.
Remote control number, status
Indicates which remote control gave the most recent command to the lock system.
The value can be 1 to 6.
Only for vehicles without keyless entry (KVM).
Remote control, number of remote controls, status
Indicates how many remote controls have been programmed for the vehicle.
The value can be from 0 to 6.
Two remote controls are normally programmed for the vehicle.
Only for vehicles without keyless entry (KVM).
For vehicles with keyless entry (KVM), read-out takes place under KVM/Advanced.
Remote control, low battery voltage, status
Indicates whether the central electronic module (CEM) has received a message from a remote control that the battery voltage in the remote control is getting low.
The value can be True or False.
Only for vehicles without keyless entry (KVM).
Parameters, immobilizer function
Switch key in, status
The key in switch is closed when the key is inserted in the ignition switch.
The parameter can have the value Activated or Not activated.
Checking the key, status
The key check is carried out when the key is inserted in the ignition switch.
The parameter can have the value Key approved or Key not approved.
Power supply steering column lock module (SCL), status
The value indicates the status of the power supply to the steering column lock module (SCL).
The value can be Activated or Not activated.
Checking the steering column lock module (SCL)
Before the steering column lock can be unlocked, a communication test is carried out between the central electronic module (CEM) and the steering column lock module (SCL).
The parameter displays how the test proceeded.
The value can be OK or Not OK.
Checking the steering column lock module (SCL), status
The parameter can assume four values:
- Locked.
- Invalid lock cylinder position.
- Not valid.
- Unlocked.
Immobilizer, steering column lock module (SCL), start allowed
The parameter displays whether the steering column lock module (SCL) allows the vehicle to start or not.
The value can be Start permitted or Start not permitted.
Immobilizer, checking the Engine control module (ECM)
When attempting to start the engine, a communication test is carried out between the central electronic module (CEM) and the engine control module (ECM).
The parameter can assume the value OK or Not OK.
Immobilizer, fuel pump (FP), status
The parameter displays whether starting the fuel pump (FP) has been allowed by the immobilizer system.
The parameter can assume the value Activated or Not activated.
Immobilizer, programming
The parameter displays whether the immobilizer function code in the central electronic module (CEM) is the default code (from production) or if the central electronic module (CEM) has been programmed for the immobilizer function.
The parameter can assume the value "PIN pre-set" or "PIN not pre-set".
PIN pre-set = The central electronic module (CEM) has not been programmed with a unique vehicle code.
PIN not pre-set = The central electronic module (CEM) has been programmed with an Immobilizer code.
Parameters, alarm
Alarm status
The parameter indicates the status of the alarm system.
The parameter can assume the following values:
- Activated
- Deactivated
- Deployed.
Hood switch, status
The parameter indicates the status of the hood.
The parameter can assume the values:
Closed = the hood is closed.
Open = the hood is open.
Left-hand front door, status
The parameter indicates the status of the left-hand front door.
The parameter can assume the values:
Closed = the left front door is closed.
Open = the left front door is open.
Right-hand front door, status
The parameter indicates the status of the right-hand front door.
The parameter can assume the values:
Closed = the right front door is closed.
Open = the right front door is open.
Left-hand rear door, status
The parameter indicates the status of the left-hand rear door.
The parameter can assume the values:
Closed = the left-hand rear door is closed.
Open = the left-hand rear door is open.
Right-hand rear door, status
The parameter indicates the status of the right-hand rear door.
The parameter can assume the values:
Closed = the right-hand rear door is closed.
Open = the right-hand rear door is open.
Door switch liftgate / luggage compartment lid, status
The parameter indicates the status of the liftgate / luggage compartment lid.
The parameter can assume the values:
Closed = the tailgate / trunk lid is closed.
Open = the tailgate / trunk lid is open.
Indicator LED alarm, status
The parameter indicates the status of the indicator LED alarm.
The parameter can assume the values:
Activated = indicator LED must light.
Not activated = indicator LED must not be lit.
Switch reduced alarm, status
The parameter indicates the status of the reduced alarm function.
The parameter can assume the values:
Activated = the function is activated.
Not activated = the function is not activated.
Unlocking liftgate / luggage compartment lid, status
The parameter indicates the status of the motor for unlocking the liftgate/luggage compartment lid.
The parameter can assume the values:
Activated = motor activated.
Not activated = motor not activated.
Note! The status of the motor will only display activated during the period the motor is activated, i.e. approximately 1 second after activation.
Switch liftgate / luggage compartment lid, status
The parameter indicates the status of the switch of the liftgate/luggage compartment lid.
The parameter can assume the values:
Activated = switch is activated.
Not activated = switch is not activated.
Unlocking fuel filler door, status
The parameter indicates the status of the switch for opening the fuel filler door.
The parameter can assume the values:
Activated = switch is activated.
Not activated = switch is not activated.
Power supply to mass movement sensor module (MMS), status
The parameter indicates the status of the power supply to the mass movement sensor module (MMS).
The parameter can assume the values:
Activated = power supply activated.
Not activated = power supply not activated.
Lighting
Stoplamp, left, value
Measurement range 0 to 100 % of supply voltage.
The normal value when the supply voltage is 13.5 Volts is approximately 98 %.
When the voltage supply exceeds 13 Volts, the voltage level is controlled using pulse width modulation. The value displays how much of the supply level is being used.
Stoplamp, right, value
Measurement range 0 to 100 % of supply voltage.
The normal value when the supply voltage is 13.5 Volts is approximately 98 %.
When the voltage supply exceeds 13 Volts, the voltage level is controlled using pulse width modulation. The value displays how much of the supply level is being used.
Stop (brake) light switch, status
Displays the status of the stoplamp switch.
Activated = stop lamp switch is activated.
Not activated = stop lamp switch is not activated.
Low beam, left, value
Measurement range 0 to 100 % of supply voltage.
The normal value when the supply voltage is 13.5 Volts is approximately 98 %.
When the voltage supply exceeds 13 Volts, the voltage level is controlled using pulse width modulation. The value displays how much of the supply level is being used.

Fog lamp, rear, value
Measurement range 0 to 100 % of supply voltage.

Back-up (reversing) lamp, status
Displays the status of the reversing lamp.
Activated = back-up (reversing) lamp comes on.
Not activated = back-up (reversing) lamp does not come on.
Hazard warning signal flashers, status
Indicates the status of the hazard warning lamp switch.
Activated = the button for hazard warning lamps is depressed.
Not activated = the button for hazard warning lamps is not depressed.
Interior lighting, value
Measurement range 0 to 100 % of supply voltage.
The normal value when the supply voltage is 13.5 Volts is approximately 98 %.

Lamp, seat belt reminder, status
Displays the status of the lamp, seat belt reminder.
Activated = seat belt reminder lamp lit.
Not activated = seat belt reminder lamp lit.
Lighting rotary switch, status
Displays the status of the lighting rotary switch.
Activated = lighting switch activated.
Not activated = lighting switch not activated.
Relay
Relay for the horn, status
Indicates the status of the relay for the horn.
Activated = the relay for the horn is activated.
Not activated = the relay for the horn is not activated.
Relay, interior lighting, status
Displays the status of the relay, interior lighting. This relay supplies voltage to:
Courtesy lighting.
Roof lighting.
Lighting in sun visor.
Lighting in glove compartment.
Activated = relay, interior lighting is activated.
Not activated = relay, interior lighting is not activated.
Relay extended X-supply, status
Displays the status of extended X-supply, status. Extended X-supply, supplies voltage to:
Cigarette lighter socket in passenger compartment.
Seat heating.
Parts of the SRS system.
Parts of the climate control system.
Speed control.
Activated = the extended X-supply is activated.
Not activated = the extended X-supply is not activated.
Relay infotainment, status
Displays the status of relay infotainment.
Activated = relay, infotainment is activated.
Not activated = relay, infotainment is not activated.
Fuel pump (FP) relay, status
Displays the status for the fuel pump relay.
Activated = fuel pump relay activated.
Not activated = fuel pump relay not activated.
Relay washer motor, front, status
Displays the status of the washer motor, front.
Activated = washer motor for windshield is activated.
Not activated = washer motor for windshield is not activated.
Rear washer motor relay, status
Displays the status of the rear washer motor relay.
Activated = washer motor for rear windshield is activated.
Not activated = washer motor for rear windshield is not activated.
Relay, headlamp washing, status
Displays the status of the relay, headlamp washing.
Activated = headlamp washing is activated.
Not activated = headlamp washing is not activated.
Relay, rear windshield heating, status
Displays the status of the relay, rear windshield heating.
Activated = rear windshield defroster is activated.
Not activated = rear windshield defroster is not activated.
Relay front fog lamps, status
Displays the status of the relay, fog lamps.
Activated = relay, front fog lamps are activated, front fog lamps come on.
Not activated = relay, front fog lamps are not activated, front fog lamps do not come on.
Relay high beam, status
Displays the status of the relay, high beam.
Activated = relay full beam activated.
Not activated = relay full beam not activated.
