Checking CD/DVD

Fault-tracing information
Check that that the CD/DVD does not have any fingerprints, dirt or other items which may interfere with reading.
If the disc is dirty the reader may have difficulty reading from the disc.
Problems may occur with a dirty CD/DVD
- Error message of unreadable disc is displayed on the screen
- Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) MMM-2000.
If the CD/DVD is dirty, clean the disc as follows:
- Spray ethanol-free washer fluid on the shiny surface of the disc.
- Give the fluid a few seconds to work.
- Carefully clean the surface with a soft fiber cloth or paper towel.
- Rinse the disc in warm water.
- Dry the disc with a soft, lint-free paper towel.
If cleaning the disc does not rectify the problem, try another CD/DVD in the reader.
If the fault recurs, replace the CD/DVD reader.

- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on
Make sure there is a CD/DVD in the CD/DVD player. Check that the CD/DVD is read properly.
