Condition




The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) checks the signal from the driver's adaptive seatbelt force limiter.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers a short-circuit in the ignition cable for the adaptive seat belt force limiter to an adjacent ignition cable for longer than 2.5 seconds.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed in ignition positions I, II or III.

Hint: The adaptive seat belt force limiter is installed in the same unit as the seat belt tensioner. To replace the adaptive seat belt force limiter, replace the seat belt tensioner.

Possible source
- Short-circuit in the ignition cable between the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and adaptive driver's seat belt tensioner to one of the other ignition cables connected to a supplemental restraint system component.

Hint: This fault can only occur if there is a short-circuit between at least two ignition cables from different collision protection systems and/or ignition stages. Check which collision protection/ignition stage has this fault type.
