Condition




The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) checks the signal from the driver's adaptive seatbelt force limiter.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers that the resistance in the ignition cable is too low for longer than 2.5 seconds.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed in ignition positions I, II or III.

Hint: The adaptive seat belt force limiter is installed in the same unit as the seat belt tensioner. To replace the adaptive seat belt force limiter, replace the seat belt tensioner.

Possible source
- Short-circuit between the two ignition cables or in the connector terminals that connect between the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the driver's adaptive seat belt force limiter
- Short-circuit in the driver's adaptive seat belt force limiter (resistance too low in the igniter).

Fault symptom[s]
- General warning lamp lit
- SRS warning message displayed.
