Checking the component
For vehicles with Occupant Weight Sensor (OWS).
- Continue troubleshooting from the central electronic module (CEM) regarding the function of the PAD lamp.
For vehicles with switch for airbag passenger front:
- Switch on the ignition. Wait 10 seconds.
- Turn the switch to position OFF.
Check whether the PAD lamp in the roof console is lit.
If the PAD lamp is not lit, continue fault-tracing from the central electronic module (CEM) regarding the function of the PAD lamp.
Remedy as necessary.
Other information
- To replace the roof console: Lighting, internal front Lighting, Internal Front
Select Continue when the fault has been remedied.

Hint: After carrying out the repair check that the fault has been remedied.
- Switch off the ignition. Wait 10 seconds
- Disconnect the battery negative lead
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on
- Connect the battery negative lead. Wait 10 seconds.
Warning! There must not be anyone inside the passenger compartment when the battery is connected.
Read diagnostic trouble codes by clicking the VCT2000 symbol.
If the fault is intermittent, the fault has been remedied.
