Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information CPM-5201

Condition




The heater is deactivated and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the combustion preheater module (CPM) registers that the temperature difference between the overheat protection thermostat and the temperature sensor is higher than permitted.
If the heater is reactivated, the heater will try to start again.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the fuel pump is activated.
No diagnostic function is carried out for diagnostic trouble code (DTC) CPM-5201 if one of diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) CPM-5001, CPM-5101, CPM-3202 or CPM-3002 is stored.

Substitute value
- None.

Possible source
- Damaged overheat protection thermostat
- Damaged engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor
- Air or leakage in the cooling system
- Damaged water pump.

Fault symptom[s]
- Poor heating in the passenger compartment
- The parking heater does not operate.
