Checking the status
- Ignition on.
Activate the high level stop lamp.
Check if the fault is permanent or intermittent.
The high level stop lamp must light when activated.
The fault is permanent if the high level stop lamp does not activate.
If the high level stop lamp is activated, this is an indication that the fault was present previously but that it is not active at the moment, i.e. the fault is intermittent.

Check the voltage on the high level stop lamp connector terminal #1 to the output on the central electronic module (CEM). The voltage must be approximately 12 V when the high level stop lamp is activated.
Check the control signal cable. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Take readings between:
- Central electronic module (CEM) terminal #C7 (#7) and high level stop lamp connector terminal #1.
Remedy as necessary.
4-doors
Check the voltage on the high level stop lamp connector terminal #1 to the output on the central electronic module (CEM). The voltage must be approximately 12 V when the high level stop lamp is activated.
Check the control signal cable. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Take readings between:
- Central electronic module (CEM) terminal #C5 (#5) and high level stop lamp connector terminal #1.
Remedy as necessary.
