Condition





Hint: The diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are included in a larger fault-tracing for the symptom Starter motor not running.

The steering column lock is checked by the steering column lock module (SCL). The unit is part of the start inhibiting system. In order for the unit to work, it must be programmed with a number of codes. The codes are used in the communications between the units included in the start inhibiting system.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the central electronic module (CEM) transmits a message to the steering column lock module (SCL) and receives an incorrect answer.
