Faulty Signal
Faulty signal
Checking the status
- Ignition on.
Activate malfunction indicator lamp (MIL).
Check if the fault is permanent or intermittent.
The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) must be lit when activated.
The fault is permanent if the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) does not activate.
If the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) is activated, this is an indication that the fault was present previously but that it is not active at the moment, i.e. the fault is intermittent.

Checking the component and wiring
Check the fuse for power supply to the Driver Information Module (DIM).
Replace the fuse if necessary.
For information about fuses, see the wiring diagram.
Check the voltage on the combined instrument panel connector terminal #A2 (#2) to the output on the central electronic module (CEM). The voltage must be approximately 12 V when the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) is activated.
Check the control signal cable. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Take readings between:
- Central electronic module (CEM) terminal #B14 (#14) and combined instrument panel connector terminal #A2 (#2).
Remedy as necessary.
