Tail pipe
INTRODUCTION
- Read through all of the instructions before starting installation.
- Notifications and warning texts are for your safety and to minimise the risk of something breaking during installation.
- Ensure that all tools stated in the instructions are available before starting installation.
- Certain steps in the instructions are only presented in the form of images. Explanatory text is also given for more complicated steps.
- In the event of any problems with the instructions or the accessory, contact your local Volvo dealer.
Tail pipe
- Measure a distance of 110 mm (4 5/16") from the front edge of the tail pipe's chromed outer pipe and forward.
- Cut off the pipe using a pipe cutter.
- Discard the cut off section.
Illustration A
- Turn the clamp to the position displayed.
- Adjust the tail pipe so that the upper side of the rear edge ends 14 mm (35/64") in front of the rear edge of the cut-out in the lower part of the bumper cover.
Illustrations B and C
- Check that the lateral distance is as large.
- If necessary, the distance can be adjusted by slackening off the screws for the rear exhaust mountings and moving them (Image C).
The tail pipes can also be turned to obtain the best position.
- Tighten the clamp (Illustration A).
- Repeat steps 1-3 on the other side.
- Torque tighten the screws in the exhaust mountings if slackened off. Tighten to 25 Nm (18.5 lbf.ft).
