Rear Door Window Glass: Service and Repair






Window rear side door, replacing

Method content

This method consists of:
- replacing
- replacing.

Window rear side door, replacing

Removing the window from the rear side door
Lower the window completely.

Remove:
- the panel. See: Panel rear side door, replacing Panel Rear Side Door, Replacing
- the speaker as described in Loudspeaker, rear side door, replacing Loudspeaker, Rear Side Door, Replacing
- the soundproofing




- the fixed window in the rear side door
- the 2 screws
- the weatherstrip in the door frame
- the weatherstrip at the bottom edge of the inside of the side window.
Slide/angle the glass unit forward.
Lift out the glass unit.




Raise the side window to the half open position.
Remove the 2 x rivets where the window is connected to the lift mechanism.
Lift out the side window.

Installing the window in the rear side door

Note! For tightening torques, see: Specifications.

Install:
- the side window
- the 2 x rivets where the window is connected to the lift mechanism.
Lower the window completely.

Hint: Use a little soap when installing the glass unit.

Caution! Guide the fixed window/glass unit towards the side window at installation.

Install the fixed window/glass unit.
Pull the fixed glass backwards towards the door arch.

Install:
- the 1 x M5 screw in the door arch and tighten
- the 1 x M6 screw in the door and tighten
- the weatherstrip in the door frame
- the weatherstrip at the bottom edge of the inside of the side window
- the soundproofing
- the speaker as described in Loudspeaker, rear side door, replacing Loudspeaker, Rear Side Door, Replacing
- the panel. See Panel rear side door, replacing Panel Rear Side Door, Replacing.
Clean the window.

Fixed window rear side door, replacing

Removing the fixed window from the rear side door





Remove:
- the side window. See Removing the window from the rear side door
- the 2 screws.
Slide the glass unit forward.
Lift out the glass unit.

Installing the fixed window in the rear side door

Note! For tightening torques, see: Specifications.

Hint: Use a little soap when installing the glass unit.

Install:
- the glass unit
- the 1 x M5 screw in the door arch and tighten
- the 1 x M6 screw in the door and tighten
- the side window as described in Installing the window in the rear side door.
Clean the window.
