DESCRIPTION:
When replacing one or both rear wheel hubs, the instructions in VIDA still apply, with these exceptions:
1. A new wheel hub kit, part number, 31201011, should be used. This new kit consists of:
A. Wheel hub
B. Tube of grease for the surface inside the sealing ring
C. Photo illustration of location of grease on wheel bearing sealing ring
2. The step in VIDA entitled 'Greasing the seal' is amended as detailed below.
3. The step in VIDA entitled 'Fitting the rear wheel' is amended as detailed below.

A future version of VIDA will be updated with these changes. In the meantime, add these service steps to the existing VIDA instructions.

SERVICE:
See VIDA:
Repair > Removal, replacement and installation > 7 springs and wheels > 77 Wheels, tires, hubs > Hub and bearing > Rear wheel hub, replacing.

Replace the step entitled "Greasing the seal" with the following:

Greasing seals and splines

NOTE:
- It is extremely important that the surface inside the sealing ring is greased using the grease from the kit. Apply grease as illustrated, in a bead which is 3-4 mm (.12"-.16") in diameter.
- The grease is off-white in color. It is shown in the illustration in blue to highlight its application.

Brush high pressure grease, part number 1161246, to the drive axle so that the splines on the outer half of the drive axle pin are filled.

NOTE: The grease used on the axle splines is different than the grease in the kit for the hub sealing ring.

Replace the step entitled "Fitting the rear wheel" with the following:

Install the screw M10 to the drive shaft. Use a new screw. The original screw may have either a rubber sleeve (washer) or a steel sleeve (washer). In either case, use screw part number 985354, which is a screw with a steel sleeve (washer).
