Preparatory work
Removing link arm
Remove the link arm according to: Control arm front, replacing Control Arm Front, Replacing.
Note! The following method shows the position of the bushings in relation to the link arm.
This method shows work done on left link arm. The placement on the right side is mirror-imaged.
Note! It is very important for the bushings characteristics and service life that they are positioned correctly.
Removal
Removing the front bushing
Place the link arm in a workshop press. Use 999 7211 Drift 999 7211 Drift and 999 7210 Socket 999 7210 Socket.
Press out the bushing.
Installation
Installing the front bushing
Note! Pay close attention to the bushing's position in the link arm.
Installing the front bushing, continued
Use 999 7211 Drift 999 7211 Drift and place the bushing in the drift. The side of the bushing's stub axle, that has the smaller of the plane surfaces, shall be facing the screw hole. Install one of the screws for the bushing loosely through the drift's hole.
Installing the front bushing, continued
Align the drifts so that the screw ends up directly opposite casting joint on the link arm.
Use 999 7210 Socket 999 7210 Socket and turn it with the hole centered in the same direction as the screw/casting joint.
Carefully press in the bushing until the threaded hole in the bushing's shaft can be seen through the sleeve's hole.
Installing the front bushing, continued
