Component Tests and General Diagnostics

Checking the power supply and ground terminals

Power supply, antenna module (ATM)
The antenna module (ATM) is powered via a power input on the control module.
Power input terminal #A1 is supplied with +30 from the battery via a fuse. It will not be possible to activate the antenna module (ATM) if there is an open-circuit.

Checking the power supply
Check the power supply cable from the battery to antenna module (ATM) terminal #A1. Check for an open-circuit. Check for loose connections. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. Check the fuse. The voltage should be approximately battery voltage.

Ground terminal, antenna module (ATM)
The antenna module (ATM) is connected to the chassis ground at fixed points in the body.

Checking ground terminal
Check that the casing on the antenna module (ATM) is properly connected to the body. Check for loose connections. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. With the ignition on, the drop in voltage between the mounting points for the control module and the body must not be greater than 0.5 V.
Remedy as necessary.
