Evaporative Shut Valve: Service and Repair
EVAP valve, replacing

Removal
Removing upper cross stay screws
Remove:
- the 2 screws at the suspension turrets on both sides
- the screws of the upper engine mount on the engine
- the upper cross stay.
Remove the upper rear engine cover
Remove the upper rear engine cover by pulling it straight up.
Removing the upper engine mount
Remove:
- the 4 screws
- the upper engine mount.
Removing the EVAP valve
Unplug the EVAP valve connector.
Remove:
- the EVAP valve from the bracket
- the EVAP line from the EVAP valve to the tank by releasing the quick-action lock
- the hose from the intake manifold to the EVAP valve by releasing the hose clip.
Installation
Installing the EVAP valve
Install:
- the hose from the intake manifold to the EVAP valve; secure with the clamp
- the EVAP line to the tank on the EVAP valve; secure with the quick-action lock
- the EVAP valve on the bracket. Plug in the connector to the EVAP valve.
Installing the upper engine mount
Install:
- the upper engine mount
- the 4 screws; tighten.
Installing the cross stay
Install:
- the cross stay between the suspension turrets
- the 4 screws in the suspension turrets; tighten
- the screw of the torque rod mounting on the upper engine mount; tighten.
Installing the upper rear engine cover
Install the upper rear engine cover.
