Interior - Door Lock Button Bushing Loose in Door Panel

SUBJECT: Door lock button, bushing coming loose.

DESCRIPTION:
Customers may complain about the bushing around the door lock button coming loose from
the door panel.





VEHICLES AFFECTED:

TOOLS AND MATERIAL:
Plastic bone tool (PN 9814071 - available through SPX tools).
Glue (PN 1161624).

SERVICE:
For a verified customer complaint matching the above description, perform following steps:

Note:
Do not remove the door panels!





1) Gently remove the bushing using a plastic bone tool or similar.





2) Apply a small amount of glue (PN 1161624) on the collar of the bushing.

3) Re-install the bushing in the door panel. Carefully center the bushing over the lock button and push down. Do not spill glue on the door panel or lock button!

4) Perform the same operation on all 4 doors of the car.

Cars built after the break point already have the bushings glued from the factory.
