Checking the component
Warning! Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected, non-deployed, pyrotechnical airbag. This could deploy the airbag!
Caution! Do not touch the terminal pins in the supplemental restraint system module (SRS). There is a risk of static discharge. This could damage the supplemental restraint system module (SRS).
- Switch off the ignition. Wait 10 seconds
- Disconnect the connector from driver's airbag stage 3
- Disconnect the contact reel connector
- Disconnect the connector from the supplemental restraint system module (SRS).
Check the connectors to the driver's airbag, the contact reel and the supplemental restraint system module (SRS). Check for damage to pins and terminals. Also check the wiring.
Remedy as necessary.
Check that the correct supplemental restraint system module (SRS) is installed in the car.
- Connect the connector to the driver's airbag
- Connect the contact reel connector
- Connect the connector for the supplemental restraint system module (SRS)
