Engine mount rear, replacing
Removing the rear engine pad
Preparation
Remove
- the screw holding the mounting for the torque rod at the bracket on the engine
- the screws for the engine stabilizer brace mounting on the suspension turrets
- the engine stabilizer brace
- the upper nut for the rear engine pad.
Raise the car
Remove
- the splash guard under the engine.
Remove
- the lower screw for the engine pad
- both the screws for the mountings holding the three-way catalytic converter (TWC)
- fold the mountings forward.
Replacing the rear engine pad
- Remove the screw and nut at the lower torque rod mounting to the bracket on the transmission
- Position a mobile jack under the transmission
- Carefully lift up the engine so that the engine pad can be replaced
- Install the new engine pad
- Install a new screw in the lower mounting for the engine pad. Do not tighten yet
- Carefully lower the engine
Note! Ensure that the guide pin for the engine pad locates correctly.
- Remove the mobile jack.
Installing the rear engine pad
Finishing
- Install a new screw and nut on the lower torque rod. Tighten to 35 Nm. Angle-tighten 90°. Use bevel protractor 951 2050 BEVEL PROTRACTOR 951 2050 Bevel Protractor.
- Tighten the lower engine pad screw. Tighten to 50 Nm
- Install the splashguard under the engine. Tighten to 25 Nm
- Install both the screws for the mountings for the three-way catalytic converter (TWC). Tighten to 10 Nm
- Lower the car.
Install
- a new nut in the upper mounting for the engine pad. Tighten to 50 Nm.
Install
- the engine stabilizer brace between the suspension turrets. Tighten the four screws. Tighten to 50 Nm
- the screw for the engine stabilizer brace mounting at the torque control arm on the engine. Tighten to 80 Nm.
