Throwout bearing, replacing

Removing the clutch cylinder
Undo the rubber seal of the clutch cover. Move it inward on the pipe toward the clutch cylinder.
Pull out the locking brace holding the quick-release connector on the pipe to the branching. The locking brace is positioned on the outside of the clutch cover.
Remove the branching. Insert a protective plug into the end of the pipe.
Remove the two screws holding the clutch cylinder. Remove the cylinder.
Clean the contact faces on the clutch cover. Check for any leakage from the transmission.

Checking the clutch cylinder and the throwout bearing
Clean the clutch cylinder.
Check the wear, play and noise in the throwout bearing. There must be no deep grooves on the flat surface which presses onto the clutch.
Check for wear and leakage on the cylinder and protecting bellows.
The clutch cylinder and pipe are replaced as a single unit.
Installing the clutch cylinder
Tighten to 10 Nm.
Fit the rubber seal on the pipe with the boot facing the clutch cylinder.
Remove the protective plug. Install the manifold. Always use a new quick-release connector with rubber seal.
Lubricate the rubber seal with a drop of brake fluid.
Insert the lock brace in the manifold, press the manifold onto pipe.

Make sure the rubber seal fits correctly on all sides.
