Shock absorber rear, replacing (Four-C)
Special tools:

Removal
Removing the shock absorber
Remove the floor carpet.
Fold the rear seat backrest forward.
Remove:
- the clips and fold out the front edge of the side panel in the cargo compartment
- the soundproofing
- the nut for the upper mounting for the shock absorber. Use socket999 5500 SOCKET UPPER NUT REAR SHOCK ABSORBER 999 5500 Socket Upper Nut Rear Shock Absorber.
Raise the car
Raise the car.
Disconnecting the connector
Disconnect the connectors on top of the sub-frame.
Pull the connector off the rail on the sub-frame and out to the side.
Pull up and open the connector.
Disconnect the cable harness from the sub-frame and the control arm for the shock absorbers.
Removing the wheel and shock absorbers
Remove:
- the wheel
- the screw for the shock absorber
- the shock absorber.
Installation
Tightening torque
For tightening torques, see Specifications [1][2]Specifications.
Installing the shock absorber
Insert the new damper through the control arm to the upper mounting.
Install thenewnut loosely.
Install:
- the cable harness on the sub-frame and the control arm for the shock absorbers
- the connector on top of the sub-frame.
Press up the control arm using a mobile jack.
Fix the shock absorber in the lower mounting. Tighten the M12 screw.
Remove the mobile jack.
Install:
- the nut for the upper mounting for the shock absorber. Tighten. See Tightening torque [1][2]Specifications. Use socket999 5500 SOCKET UPPER NUT REAR SHOCK ABSORBER 999 5500 Socket Upper Nut Rear Shock Absorber and a Torx-wrench as a counterhold
- soundproofing.
Fold back the front edge of the side panel in the cargo compartment. Install the clips.
Fold the rear seat backrest back into position.
Reinstall the carpet.
Install the wheel. See Installing wheels Service and Repair.
Finishing
Calibrate the position sensor Four-C
Note! Four-C and Bi-Xenon lamps have the same position sensor.
Check and adjust the headlamps in accordance with: Headlamps, aligning Adjustments.
