12V socket, cargo compartment




- Turn the ignition switch to position 0.
- Remove the mat (1) in the cargo compartment.
- Turn the knob (2) 90°.
- Remove the right-hand side panel (3), by removing the three clips in the lower edge, folding the panel out and removing it.
- Remove the panel (4), by first removing the clips on the rear edge of the panel and then the clips on the front edge of the panel.
- Remove the left-hand side panel.




- Remove the panel at the rear crossmember and remove the cover (1) and the screws (2). Pull the end faces (3) in towards the centre and up, so that the clips detach. Detach the connectors (4).





Applies to cars equipped with CD changer and/or RTI
- Remove the screws (1 and 2) in the console for the RTI control module.
- Place the control module to one side.
- Remove the screws (3) in the console for the CD changer/CD drive.
- Place the CD changer/CD drive to one side. Detach the cables if necessary.
- If the car is only equipped with CD changer:
Remove the screws (2) and (3). Detach the cables if necessary.




- Press in the catch on the rear brown connector in the cargo compartment fuse holder. Turn up the lock arm as far as possible and pull out the connector.




- Carefully pull apart the sides of the holder for the connector at the ends so that the connector can pass by the catches.
- Pull out the connector.




- Connect the routed blue (BL) cable in position 31 in the connector.
- Reinstall the connector in the holder and reinstall the whole unit in the fuse holder.




- Clamp the cable (1) from the fuse holder with tie straps (2), from the kit.
- Route the blue cable (3), including connector and ground cable, along the rear crossmember to the right-hand side of the cargo compartment. Clamp with tie straps (4) from the kit.




- Remove the seat cushion (1) by lifting the front edge of the cushion and pulling it forward.
- Remove the sill moulding (2) at the right-hand rear door.




- Remove the seatbelt from the guide (1) on the right-hand side bolster.
- Insert a hand down the side of the lower section of the right-hand side bolster.
- Release the catches and lift the bolster at the same time. Place the bolster to one side.
- Fold the right-hand backrest forward.




- Route the black ground cable (1) along the right-hand side of the cable duct (2) and into the passenger compartment.
- Clamp the cable at the cable duct, use two tie straps from the kit.




- Fold the insulation panel out of the way.
- Connect the black ground cable (1) to the front ground terminal (2). Use the existing ground screw. Tighten to approx. 10 Nm (8 lbf.ft.).
- Clamp any excess. Use a tie strap from the kit.
- Fold the insulation panel back into place.
- Reinstall the bolster and the cushion.




- Fold back the right-hand rear panel.
- Measure and mark out the drill holes for the 12V socket. 40 mm = 1 9/16", 45 mm =1 3/4".
- Drill out the hole with a hole saw -19 mm (3/4").
- Reinstall the front panel in the cargo compartment and the panel at the rear cross member.




- Install the 12V socket in the panel so that the cover opens at the front edge. Tighten the 12V socket firmly.
- Connect the connector (1) to the 12V socket (2).
- Reinstall the rear right-hand side panel in the cargo compartment.
- Reinstall the rear left-hand side panel in the cargo compartment.
- Reposition the carpet in the cargo compartment.
- Check the function.
