Components Center Console, Replacing






Components center console, replacing

Gas strut, replacing

Removing the gas strut




Fold up the armrest on the center console.

Remove:
- the retaining clip from the gas strut
- the gas strut.

Installing the gas strut





Install:
- the gas strut
- the retaining clip for the gas strut.
Fold down the armrest on the center console.

Upper bracket for the gas strut, replacing

Removing the upper bracket for the gas strut




Fold up the armrest on the center console.

Remove:
- the 4 screws
- the outer cover
- the upper retaining clip for the gas strut
- the 2 mounting nuts for the bracket
- the bracket.

Installing the upper bracket for the gas strut





Install:
- the bracket
- the 2 mounting nuts for the bracket
- the upper retaining clip for the gas strut
- the outer cover

Note! Ensure that the guide channels along the edges of the outer cover are correctly aligned on the inner cover.

- the 4 screws.
Fold down the armrest on the center console.

Lower bracket gas strut, replacing

Removing the lower bracket for the gas strut





Remove:
- the cover over the 12 volt socket on the rear edge of the center console. Insert a weatherstrip knife in the lower edge and pry off
- the 2 screws and the panel for the 12 volt socket
- the screw holding the insert at the rear edge
- the 2 mounting nuts for the gas strut bracket.




Fold up the armrest on the center console.

Remove:
- the screw holding the insert at the bottom
- the insert by pulling it straight up
- the lower retaining clip for the gas strut
- the bracket.

Installing the lower bracket for the gas strut





Install:
- the bracket
- the lower retaining clip for the gas strut
- the insert
- the screw holding the insert at the bottom.
Fold down the armrest on the center console.





Install:
- the 2 mounting nuts for the gas strut bracket
- the screw holding the insert at the rear edge
- the panel for the 12 volt socket and its 2 screws. Tighten
- the cover over the 12 volt socket on the rear edge of the center console.

Outer cover on the armrest, replacing

Removing the outer cover on the arm rest




Fold up the armrest on the center console.

Remove:
- the 4 screws
- the outer cover.

Installing the outer cover on the arm rest





Install:
- the outer cover

Note! Ensure that the guide channels along the edges of the outer cover are correctly aligned on the inner cover.

- the 4 screws.
Fold down the armrest on the center console.

Insert center console, replacing

Removing the insert from the center console





Remove:
- the cover over the 12 volt socket on the rear edge of the center console. Insert a weatherstrip knife in the lower edge and pry off
- the 2 screws and the panel for the 12 volt socket
- the screw holding the insert at the rear edge.




Fold up the armrest on the center console.

Remove:
- the screw holding the insert at the bottom
- the insert by pulling it straight up.




Lift up the Rear Seat Entertainment Module (RSE).
Disconnect the connector for the cable harness for the DVD player.
Thread the cable harness for the DVD player through the hole in the insert.

Installing the insert in the center console




Thread the cable harness for the DVD player through the hole in the insert.
Connect the connector for the cable harness for the DVD player.
Position the control module in the center console.




Press the insert into position in the center console.

Install:
- the screw in the bottom of the insert.
Fold down the armrest on the center console.





Install:
- the screw holding the insert at the rear edge
- the panel for the 12 volt socket and its 2 screws. Tighten
- the cover over the 12 volt socket on the rear edge of the center console.

Inner cover armrest, replacing

Removing the inner cover on the arm rest





Remove:
- the outer cover. See Removing the outer cover on the arm rest
- the insert for the center console. See Removing the insert from the center console.
Thread the cable harness for the DVD player through the hole in the inner cover.
Cut off the tie straps holding the cable harness in the inner cover.

Remove:
- the 4 screws
- the DVD player and the cable harness
- the 2 mounting nuts for the gas strut bracket.





Remove:
- the bracket for the gas strut
- the 2 screws holding the inner cover in the center console
- the inner cover.

Installing the inner cover on the arm rest





Install:
- the inner cover
- the 2 screws holding the inner cover in the center console
- the bracket for the gas strut.





Install:
- the 2 mounting nuts for the gas strut bracket
- the DVD player and the cable harness
- the 4 screws.
Install new tie straps to secure the cable harness in the inner cover.
Thread the cable harness for the DVD player through the hole in the inner cover.

Install:
- the insert for the center console. See Installing the insert in the center console
- the outer cover. See Installing the outer cover on the arm rest.
