Checking the TV Receiver. Rear Seat Entertainment, Generation 3.1/3.2






Checking the TV receiver

Fault-tracing information
If the TV in the rear seat does not function the fault could be due to:
- Fuses
- Power supply to the M2D control module
- Power supply to the TV-receiver
- M2D control module connectors
- TV receiver connectors
- The cable harness between the M2D control module and TV receiver
- Cable between the Rear Seat Entertainment Module (RSE) and TV receiver/M2D control module connection wiring
- Cable terminals on the connectors
- Defective Rear Seat Entertainment Module (RSE)
- Defective TV receiver.

Settings
Check that the radio is switched on.
Set the mode to TELEVISION using the SOURCE button on the radio.
Check that the fuses for the M2D-control module are intact and that there is power supply to the fusebox.
The voltage must be approximately 12 V.

Checking the M2D control module
Check that the connectors for the M2D control module are connected. See positions 1-5.
Check the supply voltage to the TV receiver between terminals #N1-6 and #N1-7, see position 3 for the location of the connector.
The voltage must be approximately 12 V.

Hint: The voltage must be approximately 12 V.

Check the supply voltage to the M2D control module between terminals #N1-9 and #N1-13, see position 3 for the location of the connector.
Remedy as necessary.

Was a fault detected?

Yes - FAULT FOUND

No - Checking the TV receiver

Checking the TV receiver
Check that the connectors for the TV receiver module are connected. See positions 6-8.
Check the supply voltage between terminals #M-7 and #M-15. See position 6.
The voltage must be approximately 12 V.
Check the wiring between the M2D control module and the TV receiver. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Check the cable terminals on the connector for the TV receiver and M2D control module. The cable terminals must not be damaged, pressed back or oxidized.
Check the cable between the Rear Seat Entertainment Module (RSE) and the TV receiver.
Remedy as necessary.
