Auxiliary Input / Output Jack: Testing and Inspection






Checking the auxiliary jack (AUX)

Fault-tracing information
If the auxiliary jack (AUX) does not function the fault could be due to:
- Wiring or contact resistance in the terminals
- Defective Rear Seat Entertainment Module (RSE)
- The AUX-panel
- Externally connected component.

Checking the settings
Ensure that the problem only occurs when the accessory is connected.
Test by connecting an accessory which definitely functions correctly. For further information about the accessory see the accessory manual.
Check that there is power supplied to the accessory.

Checking the picture signal
Check the wiring for the picture signal. Check the cable between auxiliary jack (AUX) terminal #6 and control module terminal #C7. Check the cable for the ground lead. Check the cable between the auxiliary jack (AUX) terminal #5 and control module terminal #C8.

Checking wiring for audio signals
Check the audio wiring for the accessory. The right audio signal. The cable between auxiliary jack (AUX) terminal #4 and control module terminal #C9.
The left audio signal. The cable between auxiliary jack (AUX) terminal #3 and control module terminal #C10.
The audio ground lead. The cable between auxiliary jack (AUX) terminal #2 and control module terminal #C11.

Checking the auxiliary jack (AUX)
Check the AUX-panel, reinstall if necessary. If no other fault is found there could be a fault in the control module.
Remedy as necessary.
