Faulty Signal
Faulty signal
Ordering and programming software
The control module needs to be programmed with updated software. See the technical journal for information about the present software.
Note! After the software has been updated, diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-008D is replaced with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) TCM-0053 and TCM-0054. Fault-trace according to the relevant information.
Hint: Press "Pause". Save a bookmark so that the fault-tracing can be resumed after programming.
Select "Continue" after programming.
Continue - Test driving
-------------------------------------------------
Test driving
Note! Test drive the car according to the driving schedule below to check whether the fault is still active. The test drive is compiled in order to create the conditions in which the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) will be stored again if the fault is active. The TEST MODE function can be used to provoke any diagnostic trouble codes (DTC). The function reduces the conditions for how quickly diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are stored in the control module and the test drive becomes easier.
- Start the engine
- Activate TEST MODE.
Note! Do not switch off the engine!
- Disconnect the VIDA station. Test drive the car as described below.
Warning! Please observe traffic regulations.
Note! Before test driving, the transmission should be at operating temperature, approximately 80-90 °C.
Shift the gear selector to position D (third gear with Geartronic). Carefully accelerate to 50-65 km/h. Maintain the same speed for at least 20 seconds.
Hint: The car must be driven at an engine speed where the lock-up function is not normally activated.
Criteria for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
- The transmission fluid temperature must exceed 30°C
- The engine must be running for at least 20 seconds
- Gear selector in position D, 3 or 2 (4T65EV).
Gear selector in Geartronic position and gears 4, 3 or 2 (4T65EV-GT)
- Speed 50-65 km/h for at least 5 seconds
- At least 5 seconds since the last gear shift
- Positive engine torque (no engine braking).
Continue - Reading off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)
-------------------------------------------------
Reading off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)
Note! After the software has been updated, diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-008D is replaced with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) TCM-0053 and TCM-0054. Fault-trace according to the relevant information.
- Ignition on
- Read off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
If the fault persists, diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-0053 or TCM-0054 will still be stored. Fault-trace for codes after this fault-tracing is complete. If the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are not stored, the fault has probably been remedied by replacing the software.
Was diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-0053 or TCM-0054 stored?
Yes - DONE
No - FAULT FOUND
