Description of parameters

Parameters, status

Note! The parameters that can be read off are determined by the systems with which the car is equipped.

STC (stability and traction control) engagement indication
The value indicates the status of the switch for STC (stability and traction control).
The function is always active with ignition switched on and is deactivated when the STC (stability and traction control) button is held in for approximately 2 seconds.
Active = STC (stability and traction control) activated.
Not activated = STC (stability and traction control) not activated.

DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control) engagement indication
The value indicates the status of the switch for DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control).
The function is always active with ignition switched on and is deactivated when the DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control) button is held in for approximately 2 seconds.
Active = DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control) activated.
Not activated = DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control) not activated.

Stop lamp switch
The value indicates the status of the stop lamp switch.
Active (pressed in) = Stop (brake) lamp switch activated.
Not activated = Stop (brake) lamp switch not activated.

Direction of steering right / left
The value indicates in which direction the steering wheel is turned.
Right = The steering wheel is turned to the right.
Left = The steering wheel is turned to the left.

Pedal pressure sensor status
The value indicates the status of the pedal pressure sensor.
The pedal pressure sensor senses when the brake pedal is depressed. The brake control module (BCM) uses the signal to switch off the active yaw control (AYC) when the driver needs to brake.
OFF= Brake pedal unaffected.
ON = Brake pedal affected.

Parameters, value

Wheel speed
The brake control module (BCM) calculates the wheel speed using the relevant wheel sensor.
Measurement range: 0.60 to 327 km/h

Wheel acceleration
The brake control module (BCM) derives the wheel acceleration / deceleration from the relevant wheel sensor signal. The value may vary dependent on the road surface. Uneven road surfaces give large variations.
Measurement range: -12.8 to +12.7 m/s2
Positive value = acceleration.
Negative value = deceleration.

Vehicle reference speed
The brake control module (BCM) derives the cars reference speed from the wheel sensor signal.
Measurement range: 0.60 to 327 km/h

Acceleration of the car, positive or negative
The vehicle's acceleration or deceleration.
The brake control module (BCM) derives the reference acceleration / deceleration from the relevant wheel sensor signal.
Measurement range: -12.8 to +12.7 m/s2
Positive value = acceleration.
Negative value = deceleration.

Brake disc, temperature
The brake control module (BCM) derives the brake disc temperature depending on the length of time the anti-spin system has been operating or the ABS has been activated.
Measurement range: 0 to 918 °C

Rate of yaw, signal (DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control))
The signal from the yaw rate sensor, which is integrated in the active yaw control (AYC) sensor, transmits information to the brake control module (BCM) about the rate of yaw (steering direction) of the car in °/s. A positive value indicates a steering direction to the right. A negative value indicates a steering direction to the left.
Measurement range: -75 to +75 °/s (model year -2004)
Measurement range: -82 to +82 °/s (model year 2004-)

Lateral accelerometer, signal (DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control))
The signal from the lateral accelerometer, which is integrated in the active yaw control (AYC) sensor, transmits information to the brake control module (BCM) about the lateral acceleration of the car. A positive value indicates acceleration to the right. A negative value indicates acceleration to the left.
Measurement range: -16.7 to +16.7 m/s2 (model year -2004)
Measurement range: -18 to +18 m/s2 (model year 2004-)

Accelerometer, signal (DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control))
The signal from the accelerometer, which is integrated in the active yaw control (AYC) sensor, transmits information to the brake control module (BCM) about the longitudinal acceleration of the car. Positive value indicates acceleration. Negative value indicates deceleration.
Measurement range: -16.7 to +16.7 m/s2 (model year -2004)
Measurement range: -18 to +18 m/s2 (model year 2004-)

Brake pressure sensor 1 (DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control))
Brake pressure sensor 1 transmits a signal with the brake system pressure to the brake control module (BCM).
Measurement range: 0 to 170 bar

Brake pressure sensor 2 (DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control))
Brake pressure sensor 2 transmits a signal with the brake system pressure to the brake control module (BCM).
Measurement range: 0 to 170 bar

Pedal position sensor, position
The pedal position sensor transmits a signal to the brake control module (BCM) indicating the brake system pressure.
Measurement range: 0 to 42 mm

Pedal position sensor, speed
The pedal position sensor transmits a signal to the brake control module (BCM) indicating the pedal position sensor speed when depressed.
Measurement range: 0 to 11,770 mm/s

Steering wheel angle (DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control))
The steering wheel angle sensor transmits a signal to the brake control module (BCM) indicating the steering wheel turn.
Measurement range: -81.92 to +81.88 °/s

Steering angle, value (DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control))
The steering wheel angle sensor transmits a signal to the brake control module (BCM) indicating the steering wheel turn.
Measurement range: -700° to +700°
+700° = Left
-700° = Right

Power supply
Power supply to the brake control module (BCM).
Measurement range: 0 to 18 V

Offset values

Hint: The offset value is an adaptive correction value which gives the individual sensor offset for the sensor. The brake control module uses the value to determine the correct start value when the DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control) system is started up. If the normal value has changed during an operating cycle, the value is stored in the EEPROM memory of the brake control module (BCM) after the ignition is switched off. The value is then reloaded to the internal memory when the ignition is switched on.
The offset values can also change shortly after the ignition was switched off.
