Spoiler trunk lid, replacing

Refer to the Installation Instructions if a spoiler has not previously been installed on the vehicle.

Removal

Removing the trunk lid spoiler




Open the trunk lid.
Remove the screws from the spoiler.




Remove the spoiler using 2 T-shaped handles with a round wire in-between.

Caution! Do not damage painted surfaces.

Installation

Installing the trunk lid spoiler
Remove any tape residue from the components and the vehicle. Use: 951 2942 Circle 951 2942 Circle and: 951 2949 Holder 951 2949 Holder.
Wash the mating surfaces of the spoiler using a mixture of 30% isopropanol and 70% water.




Apply new tape on the spoiler. Use the tape from the installation kit.
Remove the thin backing. Leave the thick tape in place.
Press the tape firmly into place on the mating surfaces.




Wash the mating surfaces of the trunk lid using a mixture of 30% isopropanol and 70% water.
Remove the backing from the tape.
Screw the locating pins in the spoiler. Use the locating pins from the installation kit.





Note! To achieve a good result, 2 people are needed to press the spoiler onto the trunk lid.

Install the bushings in the drilled holes in the trunk lid.
Grasp each end of the spoiler and carefully slide the locating pins into the holes in the trunk lid.
Press the spoiler firmly into place on the trunk lid.
Open the trunk lid. Remove the 2 locating pins.
Apply locking fluid to the screw threads.
Install 2 M6 screws and plastic washers in the spoiler.
Tighten the screws. Tighten to 5 Nm.

Caution! Do not over tighten.

Finishing

Important information




Leave the vehicle indoors for 2 hours after finishing the work.
To ensure optimal adhesion, do not wash the car for 48 hours.
