Removing the roof trim
Preparations
- If the car is equipped with roof rails. Remove.
- Grasp the trim and feel where the clips (1) are positioned (the molding does not sag as much where the clips are positioned)
- Remove the roof trim by angling the trim outwards and upwards (there are 12 mounting points in the roof and four on the A-post).
- Twist off the trim as illustrated.
- Release the reference clip (2) at the windshield by lifting the catches (3) on the clip.
Installing the roof trim
NOTE: Replace any damaged clips.
- Position the clips (with the hook in contact with the outside)
- Press the lug (4) on the clips in towards the stamped mark (5).
Aligning the roof trim on the A-post
- Align the clips against the kink on the A-post using the template (6)
- Break off the template when the clips are correctly positioned
- Adjust the edge of the trim against the rubber lip.
- Check that the rubber lips (7 and 8) are not kinked
- Use a weatherstrip tool to adjust the trim in the Y axis.
