Checking the component and wiring




- Ignition off.
Check the connectors for the Suspension Module (SUM) and the solenoids. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.
Check that the solenoids on the spring struts are correctly installed.

For diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SUM-0115, front left solenoid:
- Check the signal cable between control module terminal #A7 and solenoid terminal #2. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for an open-circuit
- Check the power supply cable between control module terminal #A6 and solenoid terminal #1. Check for an open-circuit.

For diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SUM-0125, front right solenoid:
- Check the signal cable between control module terminal #A8 and solenoid terminal #2. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for an open-circuit
- Check the power supply cable between control module terminal #A9 and solenoid terminal #1. Check for an open-circuit.

For diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SUM-0135, rear left solenoid:
- Check the signal cable between control module terminal #A1 and solenoid terminal #2. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for an open-circuit
- Check the power supply cable between control module terminal #A2 and solenoid terminal #1. Check for an open-circuit.

For diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SUM-0145, rear right solenoid:
- Check the signal cable between control module terminal #A4 and solenoid terminal #2. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for an open-circuit
- Check the power supply cable between control module terminal #A5 and solenoid terminal #1. Check for an open-circuit.

Hint: Click on the VCT2000 symbol to activate the power supply to the solenoids. This will make fault-tracing easier. Measure the current on the signal cable. The value must be approximately 0.5 A.

Check the resistance of the solenoids.
Remedy as necessary.

Warning! Always test drive cars under safe, controlled conditions. Follow the appropriate traffic and speed regulations.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Test drive the car. The driving mode must be changed during the test drive
- Ignition on
- Click on the VCT2000 symbol to read off the present value on the signal cable from the solenoids. The value must be approximately 0.5 A.
