Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The Suspension Module (SUM) receives information about the vertical movement of the car body from three acceleration sensors mounted at the corners of the car body. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SUM-0051, SUM-0061 or SUM-0071 is stored if the control module registers that the signal from one of the acceleration sensors is too low when the ignition is switched on.
- SUM-0051: Left front bodywork acceleration sensor
- SUM-0061: Left front bodywork acceleration sensor
- SUM-0071: Left rear bodywork acceleration sensor.
Note! The test is carried out every other operating cycle. The Suspension module (SUM) defines an operating cycle as ignition on and ignition off.
Substitute value
- Four-C control is switched off.
Hint: For information about abbreviations for the suspension system, see Suspension system, abbreviations Description and Operation.
Possible source
- Short-circuit to ground in the signal cable

- Contact resistance in the terminals
- Defective acceleration sensor.
Fault symptom[s]
- General warning lamp lit
- Message in the display
- Four-C does not work.
