Signal too low

Checking components and wiring




- Ignition off.
Check the connectors for the Suspension Module (SUM) and the position sensor. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.

For diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SUM-0011, front left acceleration sensor:
- Check the signal cable between control module terminal #A12 and acceleration sensor terminal #2. Check for a short-circuit to ground
- Check the cable for power supply between control module terminal #A13 and acceleration sensor terminal #1. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground.

For diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SUM-0021, front right acceleration sensor:
- Check the signal cable between control module terminal #A27 and acceleration sensor terminal #2. Check for a short-circuit to ground
- Check the cable for power supply between control module terminal #A13 and acceleration sensor terminal #1. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground.

Hint: Click on the VCT2000 symbol to check the signal from the acceleration sensors.

Try a new acceleration sensor if no fault is found in the wiring.
Remedy as necessary.

- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on.
Click on the VCT2000 symbol to read off the present value of the acceleration sensor. The value must be approximately 2.5 V
Rock the car. Check that the value changes.
