Checking the component
- Switch off the ignition. Wait 10 seconds
- Set the switch to theONposition
- Switch on the ignition. Wait 10 seconds.
Check the current running through sensors A and B in the switch.
When the switch is in theONposition, the current level in sensor A must be in the range of 1.6-6.4 mA and the current level in sensor B must be in the range of 12.8-20.1 mA.
Click on the VCT2000 symbol to read off the current level.
Replace the switch if any of the current levels are outside the listed ranges.

- Ignition off
- Disconnect the battery negative lead
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on
- Connect the battery negative lead.
Warning! There must not be anyone inside the passenger compartment when the battery is connected.
- Read off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
The fault is no longer present if the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) status is intermittent.
