Faulty Signal

Faulty signal

Checking the component

- Ignition off
- Disconnect the 3-pin connector from the right front seat belt buckle
- Disconnect the connector from the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS).

Hint: The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is not stored until the fault has been present continuously for at least 3 minutes.

Check the female and male parts of the connectors for the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) and the right front seat belt buckle. The cable terminals must not be damaged, pressed back or oxidized.
Check the cable between the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) terminal #25C (21) and the seat belt buckle #54/25:4 right front. Check for an open-circuit. Try carefully bending the cable between the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) and the seat belt buckle while checking for an open-circuit to see if the resistance alters.
Check the cable between the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) terminal #26C (22) and the seat belt buckle #54/25:5 right front. Check for an open-circuit. Try carefully bending the cable between the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) and the seat belt buckle while checking for an open-circuit to see if the resistance alters.

Hint: Objects that have become jammed in the seat belt buckle and damaged the signal cable between the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) and the seat belt buckle can cause this fault. When the belt is pressed down into the seat belt buckle, check that it locks properly and that a click is heard.

If the fault is permanent and no fault is found, replace the seat belt buckle.
Remedy as necessary.
