Checking the component
Caution! Do not touch the terminal pins in the supplemental restraint system module (SRS). There is a risk of static discharge. This could damage the supplemental restraint system module (SRS).
- Ignition off.
Check whether the vehicle is to be equipped with an occupant weight sensor (OWS).
If the vehicle has an occupant weight sensor (OWS) even though it should not, the passenger seat must be replaced with one without an occupant weight sensor (OWS).
If the vehicle does not have an occupant weight sensor (OWS) even though it should, the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) must be reprogrammed.
Remedy as necessary.
If no fault is found, replace the supplemental restraint system module (SRS).
