Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information SAS-000E

Condition

The Steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) is located in the lever module together with the steering wheel module (SWM) and is supplied with power by it.
The steering wheel angle sensor is installed on the underside of the contact reel and together they create a replaceable unit. A code wheel is mounted inside the steering wheel angle sensor which follows the movements of the steering wheel. 9 x optical digital sensors and 2 x analog photo diodes read off the code wheel. These signals are compared and must create a specific pattern. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the signal pattern created does not correspond.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on and the steering wheel angle sensor is initiated. Initiation is carried out when the steering wheel is turned more than 4.5° in any direction.
